Annabelle was named a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum. She is the first person to join YGL’s advisory council from China and also serves as a member of its global agenda council on the Future of Media, Entertainment, and Information. She was named one of Fortune China’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Business of 2017 and 2016 ChinaVenture — Financial Times China Top Investor.

Annabelle holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSEE from the University of Electronic Science and Technology in China.

Annabelle joined Bertelsmann in New York in 2005 and worked as a principal at Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments prior to founding BAI. Before joining Bertelsmann, She started her career as a TV anchor and became a producer with a variety of highly rated, award- winning television and radio programs in China.

Bertelsmann is a media, services, and education company that operates in about 50 countries around the world. It includes the broadcaster RTL Group, the trade book publisher Penguin Random House, the magazine publisher Gruner + Jahr, the music company BMG, the service provider Arvato, the Bertelsmann Printing Group, the Bertelsmann Education Group, and Bertelsmann Investments, an international network of funds.
