Elizabeth Davila

Consultant and Former Chairman and CEO
VISX, Inc.

Liz Davila served as chairman and CEO of VISX Inc., the worldwide leader in laser vision
correction technology, until its acquisition by Advanced Medical Optics in May 2005.
Ms. Davila joined VISX in 1995 and became chairman and CEO in 2001.

Prior to joining VISX, Ms. Davila spent 18 years at Syntex Corporation in senior management
positions in its medical devices, medical diagnostics, and pharmaceutical divisions.

In addition to her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, which she earned
in 1977, Ms. Davila holds an MS in biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame.
Before entering the MBA program, Ms. Davila taught high school chemistry in New York
and in Quito, Ecuador.

Ms. Davila is vice chair of the boards of Accuray Inc., a medical device company, and
of Nugen Inc., a privately held early-stage company developing products for nucleic acid
amplification and detection.

Ms. Davila and her husband, Juan, are sponsors of Villa Alegre, a rural elementary school
in Ecuador. They have two children and live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
