Founding Partner, Chairman and CEO
TSG Consumer Partners
Chuck Esserman is a founding partner, chairman, and CEO of TSG Consumer Partners. Founded in 1987, TSG Consumer Partners is one of the leading private-equity funds dedicated to investing in middle-market branded consumer companies. Recent investments include vitaminwater, Smart Balance Foods, Smashbox Cosmetics, and PureOlogy.
Mr. Esserman previously worked at Bain & Co., a management consulting company.
Mr. Esserman received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1982. He is a 1980 graduate of MIT, where he majored in electrical engineering and computer science.
Mr. Esserman is a member of the boards of directors of a number of private companies. He currently serves on the board of overseers of the Hoover Institution.
Mr. Esserman resides in Orinda, California, with his wife, Ivette, and their two daughters.
