Chuck Esserman is a founding partner, chairman and CEO of TSG Consumer Partners. Founded in 1987, TSG Consumer Partners is one of the leading private equity funds dedicated to investing in middle-market branded consumer companies. Recent investments included vitaminwater, Smart Balance Foods, Smashbox Cosmetics, and PureOlogy among others. Mr. Esserman previously worked at Bain & Co.
Mr. Esserman received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1982 and is a 1980 graduate of M.I.T., where he majored in electrical engineering and computer science.
Mr. Esserman is a member of the board of directors of Alterna Professional Hair Care, CytoSport, Don Miguel Mexican Foods, Meguiar’s, N.V. Perricone M.D., and Yard House Restaurants. He has also served on the boards of educational institutions including The Head-Royce School and Lawrence Hall of Science.
Mr. Esserman resides in Orinda, California, with his wife, Ivette, and their two children, Carolyn and Christine.
