Jerker M. Johansson, MBA '86
Jerker Johansson was the former chairman and CEO of the UBS Financial Services’
Investment Bank from March 2008 to April 2009.
Prior to that Mr. Johansson spent 23 years with Morgan Stanley in New York and
London. From 2005 he was head of Morgan Stanley’s institutional equity division and
a member of the firm’s management committee. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1985 and
prior to taking on responsibility for the global equity business, he spent his career in the equity
capital markets and equity sales and trading area.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, he was part of Bankers Trust’s graduate training program
and also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr. Johansson holds a master’s degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics,
Sweden, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a member of
the board of advisors to GridPoint Inc., a leader in energy solutions for consumers and
producers of energy, and Stena International, one of Sweden's largest family-owned corporate
groups. He is also a trustee of the Tower Hamlet Educational Business partnership. He resides in
London and
is a citizen of Sweden.
