Brent Nicklas is the founder and managing partner of Lexington Partners, Inc., a private investment management firm based in New York.
Lexington Partners is a global private-equity manager primarily involved in providing liquidity to owners of interests in private-equity limited partnerships and in providing equity coinvestments alongside leading private equity sponsors. The firm has over $10 billion in original committed capital. Lexington Partners has investments in more than 700 private equity partnerships and has coinvested in over 40 private companies. In addition to New York, Lexington Partners has offices in Boston, London, and Menlo Park.
Mr. Nicklas founded Lexington Partners in 1994. He was a founder and partner of Landmark Partners, Inc., from 1988 to 1994. From 1976 to 1988, he was a vice president of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, specializing in emerging growth company financing.
He received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1973. He received a BA in economics in 1970 from Amherst College, where he was captain of the squash team. He is a member of the corporate fund board for the Kennedy Center.
Mr. Nicklas was raised in Cooperstown, New York. He resides in Manhattan with his daughter.
