William C. Powers

Fixed-Income Portfolio Manager and Managing Director
PIMCO

Bill Powers is a fixed-income portfolio manager and managing director at PIMCO, as well
as a member of its investment and executive committees. He oversees PIMCO’s global
portfolio operations in Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, London, and Munich.

A graduate of St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., he served on the school’s board of
governors. He was a two-year letterman chosen to the All-Ivy League team at Princeton,
where he recently made the naming gift for its new football field. He generously supports
and has been a board member of the L.A. Philharmonic, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Sonoma
Jazz +, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Painted Turtle camp for
special-needs children.

Mr. Powers and his wife, Carolyn, funded and initiated The Blues and Jazz–Two American
Classics, a program to preserve, raise awareness for, and teach students America’s classical
music, jazz and blues, through the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. He and his wife have
five children and reside in Manhattan Beach, Aspen, and Cabo.

Mr. Powers received an AB in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the
Stanford Graduate School of Business.
