Scott C. Schnuck, MBA '75
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Schnuck Markets, Inc.
Scott Schnuck, a native St. Louisian, grew up working in his family’s grocery stores, starting as a courtesy clerk and then in various positions within the company. After completing graduate school, he joined Schnucks full time in 1975. Over the years, Mr. Schnuck has served in a number of positions, including vice president of marketing, senior vice president of supermarkets, and in 1991 he rose to president and coo. In 2006, he succeeded his brother, Craig, in the office of chairman and ceo of Schnuck Markets Inc.
Mr. Schnuck is past chairman of several regional organizations, including the Missouri Botanical Garden, now serving on the board of trustees; the Regional Chamber and Growth Association, now serving on the board of directors; the St. Louis Sports Commission; and Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley. He recently chaired the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Succession Committee, charged with finding a replacement for retiring president Dr. Peter Raven.
He currently holds advisory positions with Cornell University’s Undergraduate Business School Advisory Board and the Foundation for Special Education. He is on the Food Marketing Institute’s board of directors. In 2007, Mr. Schnuck had the honor of chairing the Salvation Army’s annual Tree of Lights campaign. He also serves as a director on the board of Bakers Footwear Group.
Mr. Schnuck graduated from Cornell University in 1972 with a BS in food industry. He earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1975.
Mr. Schnuck and his wife, Julie, have three sons, Matt, Jason, and Tom.
