Sageview Capital LLC
Scott Stuart is a founding partner of Sageview Capital LLC. Sageview is a “hybrid fund” that uses a private-equity approach to public market investing, as well as making opportunistic private investments. Sageview targets companies in North America and Europe. Mr. Stuart started Sageview with fellow GSB alumnus Ned Gilhuly in 2005.
Prior to the start of Sageview, Mr. Stuart spent 19 years at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company (KKR), where he was a partner and a member of the firm’s investment committee. During his tenure at KKR, he was involved with investments in the consumer products, media, industrial, and power sectors. Former board memberships include Duracell, RJR Nabisco, Borden, Elmers, World Color, Granum Communications, DPL, Sealy, and Newsquest Media Group. Prior to business school, he was with Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb, where he worked in the mergers and acquisitions department.
Mr. Stuart received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1986 and is a 1981 graduate of Dartmouth College, where he majored in English literature.
Mr. Stuart is a member of the board of directors of EverBank Financial Corp., Community Bancorp LLC, and Chrysler Group
LLC (United States Treasury representative). He also is on the board of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where chairs the investment committee. He served on the GSB Trust from 2000 to 2006.
Mr. Stuart resides in Greenwich, Connecticut, with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.
