Redpoint Ventures
Geoff Yang is a founding partner of Redpoint Ventures, a $2 billion-plus family of early-stage venture capital partnerships. Since joining the venture capital business in 1985, he has helped start media companies such as Ask Jeeves, Excite, Gaia Interactive, MySpace, and TiVo, and infrastructure companies such as BigBand Networks, Foundry Networks, and Juniper Networks.
Before starting Redpoint, Mr. Yang was a general partner of IVP and a marketing representative at IBM.
Mr. Yang is a member of the boards of BigBand Networks, Franklin Templeton, and several private companies. Mr. Yang was past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists, director of the National Venture Capital Association, chairman of the Stanford Engineering Fund, and a member of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the boards of Menlo School and the U.S. Ski and Snowboarding Association Foundation, and is a member of the executive committee of the U.S. Golf Association.
He holds a BSE in engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Yang lives in Atherton, California, with his three children.
