Bill Younger is a managing director of Sutter Hill Ventures, which he joined in 1981. Sutter Hill is a Palo Alto-based venture capital firm founded in 1962. He has been an active, early stage investor in software, biotechnology, medical and telecommunications products.
Mr. Younger received a BSEE from the University of Michigan in 1972 and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1975. He joined Cummins Engine Company and worked there until 1981.
Mr. Younger has beenpresident of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists and chair of the venturecapital committee of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Trust. He is a member of the Duke Engineering School board ofvisitors and chairman of the DEVIL Fund, which benefits the school. He is on the board of the Stanford Hospital and Clinics, International Justice Mission, the Gladstone Institutes, and the Young Life National Capernaum Ministries.
He and his wife, Lauren, live in Menlo Park and have three children.
