CES Cases

What is the Process to Complete Case Files for CES Writers?

CES writers are responsible for submitting cases according to the completion requirements outlined on this page. In addition, the CES asks that writers:

  • Provide monthly updates to Nancy Gross of planned and in-progress cases. Include information about cases taught but not yet filed.
  • Request a case number from Harjeet Heer and cc: Nancy Gross. When requesting a number, provide working title and faculty author.
  • Complete the Case Donor Form (see below) for Donor Assignment. The case writer is responsible for completing this form and then e-mailing it to Maria Rowell and Susan Chung in the Development Office before the final editing stage of the case occurs. The Development Office will complete the "Development Donor Assignment Form" and return to the Case Writer before the final editing stage has finished. (This will ensure that the Case Writer has added donor information to the case, before filing the case for distribution.)
  • Make sure that case is copyright dated according to the year that it was written (this does not change if the case is revised). Please do not update the Final Cases folder of the CES J drive.
  • When the case is complete, prepare one hard copy of all documents, place in paper file folder, and give to Nancy Gross. Email electronic files of abstract, case, TN, and SQ to Nancy Gross (and/or burn info on a CD for Nancy to place in hard copy file).

Acknowledgement of Donors for CES Cases

The purpose of this form is to ensure that donors that have contributed to case development in the CES are acknowledged on CES cases. Please fill out this form before the final round of editing and send it to Marie Rowell and cc Susan Chung in the Development Office. Stewardship will consult Fundraising to assign an appropriate sponsor to the case, which the case writer will then identify in the footer on the front page of your case. Please make sure this is done prior to using the case in the classroom or sending it to the Case Writing Office so that the donor is recognized on all cases in circulation.
