Videocases

Faculty members are responsible for video supplements or developing videocases. IT Instructional Technology (contact Bryan McCann or Richard Haukom) can assist with any taping, editing, production, or other video needs. Once a professor and/or IT Instructional Services agree that a video supplement or videocase is complete, it can be filed in the case collection. The process for filing a videos is similar to that for written cases:

  • Releases: an Audio/Visual (A/V) Release is required from each speaker in the video. If the video shows only general footage without recognizable people (e.g, offices, production lines, etc.), a company release may be required in place of an A/V Release.
  • Faculty Release: a faculty release is required for all video materials.
  • Copyright Permissions: B roll, promotional footage, or video clips produced outside of the GSB are likely to be copyrighted materials. If a video supplement or videocase includes any such materials, copyright permission is required from the copyright holders.
  • Case Information Form: complete all relevant parts of the case information form. Pay special attention to the "Video and Multi-media Materials" section of the case information form (pg. 3). If you are submitting a new written case as well as a videocase, please complete separate case information forms for each.
  • Replication: If IT Instructional Technology does not already have a completed master tape of the video, please submit a copy so that we can replicate the video to DVD for distribution. The CWO will be responsible for initiating replication once all of the completion requirements (outlined immediately above) are met.
  • Contact CWO if you have any questions or need assistance.
