| A Reason to Celebrate
THIS ISSUE IS IN MANY WAYS A CELEBRATION. Our August cover story is about the I Have a Dream (IHAD) program10 years of friendship and hard work by a classroom of youngsters from East Palo Alto and generations of MBA student tutors and mentors that culminated this spring when the Dreamers donned their high school graduation robes. While the IHAD graduates are starting their college adventures, the Business School is looking back on the 75 years since it was founded. The School's May anniversary events helped remind us of the tradition of excellence that has made this a world-renowned institution. A photo album of the event begins on page 20. Check our Web page for online versions of the weekend's videotaped discussions. The site includes instructions for requesting a VHS copy. If you don't have Web access, write or call the Business School at 650.723.2146. Stanford Business is also celebrating the arrival of a new editor. Kathleen O'Toole, who has spent the past 14 years writing about work being done on other parts of the Stanford campus, joined the magazine in July. As a mainstay of the University's news bureau, O'Toole has earned a reputation for helping readers understand Stanford's people and ideas. She's a welcome addition who will help make this publication even stronger.
