1970 Nearly 500 GSB students and faculty, meeting at Stanford's Memorial Church on May 4, 1970, voted to go on strike against the American forces' "incursion" into Cambodia four days earlier. After the strike had ended, student president Roger Salquist, MBA '71, editorialized in the Reporter: "I hope that some of the activist enthusiasm recently kindled [at the GSB] will be directed to the areas of social, racial, and economic inequities that plague the United States."
