RULES FOR SUCCESS
Debi Coleman, MBA '78, offered these eight tips for women managers:
- Who you work for may be more important than the job you hold.
- Learn to get visibility early and often to put your company in the best possible light.
- When you make a mistake, admit it and get it over with.
- Women executives often have a misguided sense of loyalty -- don't "tree hug."
- Make sure you are successful at what you do.
- Be good to the superstars who work for you.
- It may be better to beg forgiveness after doing something spectacular than to ask permission first.
- Never accept "no" for an answer from someone who doesn't have the authority to say "yes."
