1973
ALTHOUGH the GSB was coeducational from Day One, it wasn't until the seventies that the School went out and actively recruited women--and then it looked east to the all-female Seven Sisters schools of New England. Barbara Burgess, MBA '73 (far right), was part of the first double-digit class (19 women), which was soon joined by the 34 women of the Class of 1974, including (from left) Anna Marie Schweizer, Nancy De Nero, Jane Strauss, and Alice Kaplan. All five are alumnae of Smith College, which for a short period became one of the top feeder schools of the GSB.
