Hallie Mittleman

Hallie Mittleman dedicates her career to social and environmental impact at the junction of the public, nonprofit, and private sectors and is interested in shifting where and how capital is invested to make a transformative impact. 

Before coming to Stanford, she led a microfinance team in Cambodia, providing loans to smallholder farmers. She has also led sustainability initiatives that integrated with economic development efforts in Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition, Hallie has worked to promote sustainable agriculture through farm-direct marketing channels and worked with food entrepreneurs to source their products locally and grow their businesses. She began her career as an AmeriCorps member, where she worked on programs to help bring farm-fresh produce to food-insecure communities. 

Hallie earned a BA and an MPA from the University of Pennsylvania and was more recently awarded a professional certificate from the Stanford LEAD program.
