Corporate and Foundation Investor Profiles

Investing in Our Mission

The financial and intellectual commitment of our corporate and foundation investors is key to the GSB's ability to prepare leaders for today’s global business environment. Highlights from 2008-09 giving include gifts for programs that exemplify some of the School’s top priorities including multidisciplinary collaboration, social innovation, and principled leadership development.

Stanford University's goal to seek solutions to the world’s environmental challenges requires multidisciplinary and cross-school programs in research and teaching. Thanks to the generosity of the Chevron Corporation, the GSB is able to support several MBA students in pursuit of a joint degree in environment and resources offered with the Emmett Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Environment and Resources (E-IPER).

The Robertson Foundation generously provided the funding to launch the Social Innovation Fellows Program. This three-year pilot program enables mission-driven Stanford MBAs to devote their full-time energy after graduation to create nonprofits that benefit society, particularly marginalized populations, and to address important social or environmental challenges.

A significant component of the School’s redesigned MBA curriculum is an emphasis on experiential leadership education. By integrating theory, lessons of practical application, and their own experiences, our students develop essential skills and capabilities. We are grateful to BP plc, Abbott, and PepsiCo corporate partners who generously supported the 2008 Executive Challenge, the capstone event that synthesizes the leadership training for all of our first-year MBA students.
