The Nonprofit Sector: A Research Handbook
Walter Powell, Professor of Organizational Behavior (by courtesy), Stanford Graduate School of Business and Professor of Education at Stanford, is creating a completely new edition of his volume The Nonprofit Sector: A Research Handbook. The most widely used resource in the field, The Nonprofit Sector (Yale University Press) was published in 1987. Although this volume is regarded as "the bible of nonprofit scholarship" (Stanley Katz, Past-President, American Council of Research Societies), the nonprofit sector has grown over the past decade. Research on nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and the relationship between nonprofits and the private and public sectors has blossomed. Hence, the need exists for a new, authoritative scholarly sourcebook. Professor Powell is working to produce a new research handbook for the field of nonprofit studies.
