Leadership Development Programs
Executive education at the Stanford Graduate School of Business offers general management and specialized programs for business executives from around the world. Drawing on the cutting-edge knowledge and research of the Business School faculty, the Center for Social Innovation executive programs adapt business knowledge and experience to the challenges faced by the nonprofit and public sectors. Each year CSI demonstrates its commitment to social innovation by underwriting a significant portion of the costs of these programs. The School's goal is to provide participants with a high quality management development experience.
Business Strategies for Environmental Sustainability
This program delivers strategies to gain competitive advantage through environmentally sustainable practices. Held at the Stanford Sierra Conference Center near Lake Tahoe, this unique program is appropriate for leaders in business, government, non-governmental organizations, and political action organizations. Selected topics include sustainable supply chain; politics, influence and the environment; strategic environmental leadership; and environmental entrepreneurship. ![]()
NEW! Corporate Social Responsibility: Strategic Integration and Competitiveness
This program explores new ways in which companies can incorporate societal and environmental perspectives into strategic thinking, and the challenges and dilemmas involved in the process. It is held in partnership with ESADE Business School and takes place in Barcelona, Spain. ![]()
Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders
This program furthers the professional development of current and future nonprofit leaders by integrating frameworks on leadership and management strategy with participants’ own experiences. Selected topics include leadership and strategy, balancing business and social objectives, capacity management, marketing and financial management, negotiation strategies, and the role of power and influence. ![]()
NEW! Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship
This program is tailored to the needs and challenges facing successful social entrepreneurs. The curriculum is designed to help participants take enterprises and innovative models to the next level by refining their ideas and leveraging their impact. Selected topics include tapping the social capital market, balancing social and economic value, blending nonprofit and for-profit legal forms, and creating effective cross-sector partnerships.
Strategy for Nonprofit Organizations
This program teaches teams of senior staff and board members to effectively define and execute both mission and strategy. Selected topics include analyzing the competitive environment, using mission to create social and economic value for stakeholders, and applying program concepts to participants’ own organizations. ![]()
