View From The Top is the dean’s premier speaker series where students interview well-respected leaders from around the world who share insights on effective leadership, their personal core values, and lessons learned throughout their career.

Speaker

Steve Kerr is the head coach for the Golden State Warriors. In addition, he was a former NBA player and five-time NBA Champion, winning championships with the Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs. Prior to coaching the Warriors, Kerr also spent some time as the president of basketball operations and general manager of the Phoenix Suns for six years.

Throughout his time as a player, Kerr was a shooting guard and was credited with retiring the number twenty-five by the University of Arizona, winning the NBA Three-Point Shootout champion title in 1997, and the NBA Shooting Stars champion in 2006. Kerr scored a total of 5,437 points over the course of his career and achieved 1,060 rebounds and 1,658 assists. Retiring as a player in 2003, Kerr wants to focus on giving back to the sport as a coach and the Golden State Warriors have a very promising future under his lead.
