This program was developed to deliver a world-class supply chain management education program that supports China's continuing development and transformation. The specific objectives of the program are:

  • Collaborate with key educational institutions and partners to establish a self-sustaining, globally recognized program that continuously drives thought leadership in supply chain management
  • Increase supply chain knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities of Chinese Senior Supply Chain Executives so that they can more effectively lead their organizations to compete in the global marketplace

Program Overview

In the China Supply Chain Institute program, cooperative interaction is exemplified, combining the knowledge of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Education System and the Fudan School of Management. Together, these two schools inspire thought leadership in supply chain strategies, as participants will learn to set and implement supply chain plans using a variety of principles including the AAA Supply Chain Method, best practices in supply chain operations and logistics, collaborative planning and forecasting, inventory control, and risk management. In this program, participants will also learn how new product designs affect supply chains and will be able to develop procedures with respect to trading partners improving customs processes and financial arrangements in order to improve supply chain success on a global scale.

Hau L. Lee

Thoma Professor of Operations, Information and Technology; Director of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum; Director of the Strategies and Leadership in Supply Chains Executive Program

Hau Lee's research focuses on supply chain management, work that addresses how to get products or services to their destination by managing the flow of materials, information, and money. His research has resulted, among other things, in the building of computer models for industrial implementation, as well as in the development of strategies and operational concepts for practitioners.

Hongyu Li
Hongyu Li

Professor of Operations Management

Prof. Li gained his PhD in Operation Management from the University of Texas at Austin. With a strong industrial background in engineering, Professor Li highlights his research areas in logistics/operations management, production planning and controlling, data envelopment analysis and its application. As a member of INFORMS (ORSA/TIMS), USA, and a member of the Editorial Board, International Journal of Information Technology and Decision Making, he has won a wide recognition in his research area. In terms of teaching, Prof. Li is an Overseas Consulting Professor of the National University of Singapore and an Honorary Adjunct Professor of the Norwegian School of Business and he used to be an Adjunct Professor of Australia National University. Professor Li provides bilingual (English/Chinese) logistics/operation courses to students ranging from undergraduate to PhD and MBA/EMBA level.

Dailun Shi
Dailun Shi

Dr. Shi is now the president and founding partner of Tripe-E Consulting firm. He was CEO of a media company from September 2007, and was also a professor and research fellow in FDSM from September 2004 to August 2007. He was an Honorary Professor at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Guest Professor at Wuhan Institute of Technology, Honorary Professor at Norwegian School of Management (BI) , Director of Supply Chain Council Northern China Region, and Member of INFORMS,MSOM and American Financial Association. Since September 2007, he has become an adjunct professor at Fudan, mainly teaching courses in the EMBA programs. Prior to his career at Fudan, Dr. Shi spent 11 years studying and working in the USA, receiving his PhD in Management, MSM (MBA) in Finance, and MS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and MS degree in Mathematics from Brown University. He worked as a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in New York for about four years and as an executive/manager at Citigroup in New York for more than one year. Dr. Shi's research areas include Business Models, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, and E-business. He has applied for 14 patents in the USA. He is now one of the key investigators of three Chinese Nature Science Foundation projects, and had consulting projects with such firms as Bao Steel, Shanghai Diesel Engine Co LTD, Merchandise Bank, American Security Group, IBM, Intel, Honda, Phillips, Lucent, etc.
