Content Overview

Led by Stanford's world-class faculty, the Executive Program for Philanthropy Leaders focuses on the strategy and management of grantmaking institutions, with a special emphasis on vision, power, governance, and collaboration.

Participants have a unique opportunity to engage in deep, reflective discussion around issues in today's philanthropic environment — such as strategy and organizational performance, building and maintaining productive relationships, effectively managing power, and board leadership.

The rigorous curriculum offers a mix of case studies, lectures, exposure to groundbreaking research, experiential learning, guest speakers, and small group reflection. The program has been designed to broaden the sharing of ideas and to develop cross-sector networks.

Center for Social Innovation

The mission of the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) is to foster innovative solutions to social problems by enhancing the leadership, management and organizational capacity of individuals and institutions pursuing social value creation. The center's core activities of research, teaching and community engagement focus on social entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership and management, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility and public policy.

Stanford's executive program helped our foundation re-think our entire business model and lead us on a course of success.
