Content Overview

In an era when maintaining and enhancing loyalty among customers is becoming extremely difficult, firms need to gain a better understanding of the customer decision-making process and the creation of compelling customer value propositions.  While commonly used strategies that focus on offering more benefits and/or lower “prices” are effective, they tend to erode the bottom line and do little to engender long-term brand loyalty.  Utilizing the latest in neuroscientific research, Professor Shiv will highlight how the brain goes about making committed decisions, the power of emotion in shaping such decisions, and the multitude of ways firms can go about fostering satisfied and loyal customers.

Key Takeaways
  • Frameworks for understanding the customer decision-making process
  • A historical perspective of approaches to creating a Customer Value Proposition
  • New insight into the role emotions play in the decision-making process
  • An understanding of strategic and tactical implications for organizations
  • Meet and network with other business leaders and Stanford Executive Education past participants
