Mukesh Ambani is chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries
Limited and chairman of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited.
Mr. Ambani joined Reliance in 1981 and initiated Reliance's backward
integration from textiles into polyester fibers and further into
petrochemicals. In this process, he directed the creation of 60 new,
world class manufacturing facilities involving diverse technologies that
have raised Reliance's manufacturing capacities from less than a million
tons to 12 million tons a year.
Mr. Ambani is currently involved in rolling out the largest grassroots
and most complex information and communication technology initiative in
the world in the form of Reliance Infocomm Limited, which offers to more
than 1,100 towns and cities across India the full range of voice, data,
video, and value-added services. He also is steering Reliance's
initiatives in a world-scale offshore, deep-water oil and gas exploration
and production program, a pan-Indian petroleum retail network involving
5,800 outlets, and a research-led life sciences initiative covering
medical, plant, and industrial biotechnology.
Mr. Ambani received a BS in chemical engineering from the University of
Bombay and pursued an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Ambani was ranked forth-second among the "World's Most
Respected Business Leaders" and second among the four Indian CEO's
featured in a 2004 survey conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers and
published in the London Times. He received the World
Communication Award for the "Most influential Person in
Telecommunications in 2004" by Total Telecom. He was conferred
a leadership award by the Asia Society, Washington, D. C., in 2004.
Also in 2004, he was chosen as "Telecom Man of the Year" by Voice
and Data, was ranked 13th in Asia's top 25 list of the "Most
Powerful People in Business" by Fortune, and was ranked number
one for the second consecutive year in "The Power List" by India
Today.

N. R. Narayana Murthy
Chairman and Chief Mentor, Infosys Technologies Ltd.
N. R. Narayana Murthy is the Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies Limited, a global Information Technology (IT) consulting and software services provider, headquartered at Bangalore, India. Mr. Murthy served as the CEO of Infosys for twenty years, and under his leadership, Infosys was listed on NASDAQ (INFY) in 1999. In March 2002, he handed over the reins of the company to fellow co-founder, Nandan M. Nilekani.
Mr. Murthy is the chairman of the governing body of both the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Cornell University Board of Trustees, Singapore Management University Board of Trustees, INSEAD's Board of Directors and the Asian Institute of Management's Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Advisory Boards and Councils of various well-known universities - such as the William F. Achtmeyer Center for Global Leadership at the Tuck School of Business, the Corporate Governance initiative at the Harvard Business School, the Yale University and the University of Tokyo’s President's Council.
Mr. Murthy has led key corporate governance initiatives in India. He was the Chairman of the committee on Corporate Governance appointed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in 2003.
He received his BE Electrical in 1967 from the University of Mysore and his MTech in 1969 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Mr. Murthy serves as an independent director on the board of the DBS Bank, Singapore, the largest government-owned bank in Singapore. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Advisory Board of British Telecommunications plc., and a member of the Board of New Delhi Television Ltd. (NDTV), India. He serves as a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the United Nations Foundation. He also served as a member of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India between November 2000 and June 2006. He is an IT advisor to several Asian countries.
Mr. Murthy has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. The Economist ranked him 8th in the list of the top 15 most admired global leaders (2005). He was ranked 28th among the world's most-respected business leaders by the Financial Times (2005). He topped the Economic Times Corporate Dossier list of India's most powerful CEOs for two consecutive years - 2004 & 2005.
The TIME magazine "Global Tech Influentials" list (August 2004) identified Mr. Murthy as one of the ten leaders who are helping shape the future of technology. He was the first recipient of the Indo-French Forum Medal (in the year 2003), awarded by the Indo-French Forum, in recognition of his role in promoting Indo-French ties. He was voted the World Entrepreneur of the Year - 2003 by Ernst and Young. He was one of the two people named as Asia's Businessmen of the Year for 2003 by Fortune magazine. In 2001, he was named by TIME/CNN as one of the twenty-five most influential global executives, a group selected for their lasting influence in creating new industries and reshaping markets. He was awarded the Max Schmidheiny Liberty 2001 prize (Switzerland), in recognition of his promotion of individual responsibility and liberty. In 1999, BusinessWeek named him one of their nine Entrepreneurs of the Year, and he was featured in BusinessWeek's 'The Stars of Asia' for three successive years - 1998, 1999 and 2000.
The Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Australia) conferred an honorary doctorate on Mr. Murthy in 2005. He has also been conferred Honorary Doctorate by several well-known universities in India.

The contours of competition in India and globally have changed rapidly over the last decade. The opening of Indian markets has brought in a flood of world-class competitors. Globally, the flattening of the world brought about by the internet and the arrival of India and China have unleashed both increased demand as well as competitive sources of supply for products and services from the traditional to the highly technological.
It has been contended that in order to win globally, a firm must be able to win in the highly demanding marketplaces of India and China. Firms from India are now facing rigorous competition at home. Many are also competing globally and taking on the form of global enterprises.
This panel, which includes industry leaders whose firms have succeeded globally, will discuss the present and future direction of global competition. Valuable insights on how companies can thrive in this demanding environment will be provided.

Arun M. Kumar is a Partner with KPMG LLP where he leads the CFO Advisory Services practice in the West. Based in Silicon Valley, he works with large global corporations and is recognized as a thought leader in the areas of finance and performance management. Arun serves on Stanford University’s Humanities and Sciences Council. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Asian School of Business, Trivandrum, India. He is a member of the Board of TiE Silicon Valley and co-Chair of the TiE Economics Forum.

S. Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services Limited, has been associated with the Company for the past thirty years. Ramadorai’s vision is evident through the active role he played in establishing Offshore Development Centers (ODCs) in India to provide high-end quality solutions to major corporations. With a view to remain abreast with changing technologies at all times, Ramadorai set up Technology Excellence Centers in India that have acquired knowledge, expertise and equipment in specialized technology areas.
Ramadorai has been recognized by Computer Business Review in July 2006 as 6th most influential IT leader in the world. In recognition of Ramadorai’s commitment and dedication to the IT industry, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in January 06.
Apart from Chairmanships and Directorships on the Boards of other Tata companies, he is also on the Board of Directors of premier companies such as Hindustan Lever Ltd and Nicholas Piramal India Ltd..
His academic credentials include a Bachelors degree in Physics from Delhi University, India, a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of California - UCLA, USA. In 1993, Ramadorai attended the Sloan School of Management’s Senior Executive Development Program.

Mr. Gopal Srinivasan, a member of the TVS family, is the whole time Director of TVS Electronics Limited, Joint Managing Director of Sundaram-Clayton Limited & TVS Motor Limited and also Director of various other TVS Group companies. Mr.Gopal is also the Chairman of Harita TVS Technologies Limited.
TVS Electronics is a part of the 90-year-old TVS Group, the only Group from Asia, outside Japan, to win the Deming Award for Quality. He was recently appointed as the Chairman of CONNECT 2006, an ICT event held every year, by CII, Southern Region. He was awarded “Electronics Man of the Year – 2004” by “Electronics for You” magazine in 2004 & also by ELCINA for the year 1996-97. He was also recently awarded for “Outstanding Contribution to Development of IT Channels in India” by Jasubhai digital media.
