The Stanford Directors' Forum is a joint offering by the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Law School.
Corporate board members face new challenges and have an increased recognition of their responsibilities since the wave of governance reform swept in. The Stanford Directors' Forum goes beyond compliance, to explore how directors can best represent shareholders and other stakeholders in their advising and oversight roles. This ISS-accredited program gives participants frameworks and strategies to understand the current governance environment and to carry out their responsibilities. The comprehensive program draws on the research and practical knowledge of Stanford's world-class faculty and leading experts in governance practice. Participants will learn about board structure and processes, financial policy, financial reporting, compensation, fiduciary duties, litigation risk, CEO performance evaluation, and succession. This unique program is intimate in size, fostering interactions between participants, with faculty and leading governance practitioners. Directors will develop a deeper understanding of business and governance to apply to the issue facing their boards.
