Application Process
- Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) .
All U.S. citizens or permanent resident aid applicants for the 2009-2010 academic year must file a 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form has no processing fee and is required for all federal student aid eligibility. - Submit the CSS Profile Application.
The 2009-2010 CSS Profile Application is availble to be completed online. Please be advised that there is a $25 processing fee. The form is required for all U.S. citizens and permanent residents who wish to be considered for a GSB fellowship and all international students who wish to apply for any form of financial aid. You are expected to provide information for yourself and, ifapplicable, your spouse (or prospective spouse, if you are marrying on or before October 1, 2009). We do not require parental information. It is advisable to wait unitl you complete your prior year's tax return before completing the CSS Profile.
- Submit copies of your country's tax return.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents must send complete, signed copies of their 2008 U.S. tax return to the Financial Aid Office. These copies should include all schedules and W-2 forms and if applicable, your spouse's information (or prospective spouse, if you are marrying on or before October 1, 2009).
International students should also provide copies of 2008 or most recent tax statement from any and all countries in which you filed to the Financial Aid Office. Include an index of the current exchange rate(s). If the tax statement is not in English, a personal translation of the pertinent income and tax sections should be provided. If you file a U.S. 1040 NR form, please provide a copy of this as well.
If your 2008 U.S. tax return or country's tax statement is not available, and you are required and intend to do so, please complete the Statement of Intent to File form. Please submit the Statement of Intent to File, along with your prior year's tax return and a copy of your 2008 extension until such time as the 2008 tax return is completed. Once you have completed your 2008 tax return, please forward a copy.

If you did not and will not file a tax statement in any country, please complete the Statement of Non-Filing Tax Status and submit it to the GSB Financial Aid Office. If you earned income for the 2008 year, please convert the amount into U.S. dollars in order to complete the questions on the CSS PROFILE.

- Complete additional financial aid documents, if applicable.
In order to complete your financial aid application process, you will need to complete additional forms. The Financial Aid Office will inform you of any other required forms.
