Eligibility
The ultimate discretion for eligibility in the GSB International Loan Forgiveness Program lies entirely with the GSB, and will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Determinations, once rendered, are final. Please refer to related links on the right to inquire about our eligibility guidelines. Other relevant criteria may be taken into consideration at the discretion of the GSB. Please be advised that this is not an entitlement program and that the ultimate discretion for eligibility lies entirely with the GSB. The GSB reserves the right to change Eligibility Guidelines and Required Application Materials at any time.
Eligibility during any given year does not automatically qualify alumni for any future year. Loan forgiveness is dependent on available funding. If a JD/MBA applies for the GSB International Loan Forgiveness Program, half of the total loan debt for both programs will be used in the calculation of their loan forgiveness eligibility. If an applicant received more than one degree at the GSB while attending the GSB (i.e., MBA/MSE, MBA/MA Ed, etc.), the GSB will count the equivalent of 2 years (6 quarters) in the calculation of their loan forgiveness eligibility.
If you are a U.S. Citizen, you do not qualify for the International Loan Forgiveness Program. If you are working for a nonprofit or a government agency and do not qualify for International Loan Forgiveness, we suggest you look into the Nonprofit/Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Please be aware that applicants can not qualify for more than one type of loan forgiveness program at any one time.
