Reunion Volunteer Responsibilities
Reunion volunteers play a vital role in fostering alumni ties and support for the GSB through major anniversary celebrations of their graduation years. Volunteers reach out to their classmates to plan reunion activities and to set and achieve important class fundraising goals. Their efforts culminate each fall and spring, when classes are invited back to campus to reconnect, participate in learning opportunities, and rediscover the GSB.
Each year, ten classes celebrate reunions with the help of more than 400 volunteers. Through this personal outreach, reunion classes regularly set new benchmarks for participation and dollars. Responsibilities assumed by reunion volunteers include:
Outreach
- Excite classmates about reunion efforts and reunion weekend
- Recruit classmates to join the reunion volunteer team
- Create early campaign momentum with own giving
- Solicit gifts and pledges from classmates
Connect personally with classmates
- Serve as the link between your classmates and the School
- Inform classmates of key GSB initiatives; explain why it matters to you
- Reinvigorate sense of class community
Solicit gifts and pledges
- Participate in 1-2 reunion campaign launches and training conference calls
- Review a list of classmates and select 5-8 you would be willing to contact about contributing to the class gift
- Conduct actual gift solicitations by sending emails and following up by phone
- Thank assigned classmates who contribute
