Faculty Director: John Roberts
John
H. and Irene S. Scully Professor of Economics, Strategic Management,
and International Business
Senior Associate Dean
Director, Center for Global Business and the Economy
John Roberts holds the John H. and Irene S. Scully Professorship in Economics, Strategic Management and International Business at the GSB. He currently serves as its Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, as well as Director for the Center for Global Business and the Economy.
John's book, "The Modern Firm", was selected by The Economist as the best business book of 2004. He was recently elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the 15th current member of the Business School faculty inducted into the international learned society founded in 1780. Director: Grace Yokoi
Grace Yokoi is an MBA alum from the GSB as well as a former GMP student
leader. Though she grew up in the US, she received her bachelors degree
in economics at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. She has worked in finance
and training and development in Tokyo, New York, London, and Silicon Valley.
She has volunteered in Accra, Ghana at an organization serving survivors
of domestic violence, and consulted to a number of youth-serving non-profit
organizations in the Bay Area.
Associate Director: Katherine Robinson
Katherine Robinson joins the GMP from JVS (Jewish Vocational Service), a San Francisco-based non-profit job placement and training agency where she managed corporate relations. Her responsibilities include the GMP Certificate, corporate relations, marketing, communications, and program evaluation. Katherine has extensive experience in international business with a focus on Latin America. While living in Santiago, Chile she worked for American Express Bank and consulted for Cisco Systems and Hewlett Packard. Upon returning to the US, she managed international corporate accounts for DoubleClick. Katherine holds an MA from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and a BA from Duke University.
Assistant Director: Viji Jagannathan
Viji Jagannathan joined the GMP in October 2005, from the US-Asia Technology Management Center at Stanford University's School of Engineering, where she ran programs and outreach. She is also a co-founder and volunteer with the NanoBioConvergence.org, a Bay Area non-profit group that showcases applications of nanotechnology in the life sciences. Prior to that, Viji worked in Public Health Outreach & Community Education in Seattle. She has a Masters Degree from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Assistant Director: Elizabeth Newton
Elizabeth Newton is responsible for all elements of managing the Global Management Internship Experience (GMIX), with a special focus on student advising and program evaluation. Elizabeth previously worked in the Public Management Program (PMP), where she served in a variety of roles: running the 2005 Net Impact Conference; performing general PMP student-facing work; and, most recently, managing the Service Learning Program. Prior to coming to the GSB, Elizabeth worked with Net Impact vis-à-vis the AmeriCorps*VISTA program as the conference and career membership manager. Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude from Butler University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with Business Studies.
Assistant Director: Kimberley Williams
Kimberley Williams focuses on advising the Global Study Trips student
leaders and coordinating all program logistics and implementation. Kimberley
previously worked as the Special Events Manager in the MBA Program, planning
and executing events such as Graduation, Admit Weekends, student recognition
events, and orientation activities. Prior to the GSB, Kimberley worked
in the hospitality industry at a 4 star resort in Southern California.
Kimberley graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor
of Arts in American Studies and a Masters in Tourism Administration.
Program Assistant: Lindsay Hovakimian
Lindsay Hovakimian supports communication initiatives and events as well as provides logistical support to students and colleagues involved in our programs, with a special focus on Global Study Trips and the Global Experience Requirement. Prior to the GSB, Lindsay worked as Communications and Administrative Officer at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, where she performed a variety of duties, some of which included coordinating Department events and conferences, organizing Department publications, both print and web based, and managing funding applications for students and faculty. Lindsay graduated from Occidental College with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
Program Assistant: Irina Lechtchinskaia
Irina Lechtchinskaia supports students and colleagues in all financial transactions of our programs, as well as provide much-needed administrative support of our GMIX program and the GMP overall. Before joining the GSB, Irina studied and worked in Russia, France and the US. She has almost 20 years of work experience in environmental research, higher education and non-profit organizations. She has worked with the New York Press Association, the Center for International Development at State University of New York, and INSEAD in France. Irina received her Diploma of Engineer-Hydrologist from Tomsk University (Russia) and holds a Diploma of Specialized Education in Geo statistics from Paris School of Mines (France).
