How to retrieve Datastream data in Excel
To transfer large amounts of data from Datastream once or on a regular basis for the same series, use the Request Table template built into Datastream-AFO, Excell Add-In component of Datastream.

Dead companies search
- In the Data Category window, select Equities > Criteria Search. That will open the Datastream Navigator page.
- In the Status category, check the check box next to Dead and uncheck the box next to Active if needed; enter all other known criteria as appropriate. Click the Search button at the top of the page.

How to Search

Step 1: Select Data Category
Select a category in the Data Category window.
Step 2: Select Data Series
Click the Search button next to the Enter Series box.
Step 3: Select a Request Type
In Analysis window, select the request type, e.g. report, chart, table etc.
For historical time series, select the following:
- For single series, e.g. one company or one index etcSingle Series – Data > Time Series Data.
- For multiple seires, e.g. several companies or several indexes ets. MultipleSeries/Flexible Chart > Time Series Data
Step 4: Refine Your Selections
Refine your selections by dates, frequency, and currency as applicable.
For Time Series requests, click the Settings to select frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
Step 5: Run Your Search
Click the Run Now button. Your results will show up in the Output window.
Download or Save Your Results
Select Tools > Transfer > Excel (or Word, or Powerpoint) from the top menu bar.
