What is indexed in TableBase
The database matches your search terms with table contents and title. The text which accompanies some tables is not searchable.
Sample search
Find global market share information for the cosmetics industry.
1. Select the Advanced Search link.
2. Enter global and cosmetics in the
Words/Phrases text box.
3. Select Market Share from the list of
Concept Terms.
4. Click Search.
5. View, print, or download results.
How to convert a text file into an Excel file
1. With a document open, highlight and copy
a table (Ctrl-C).
2. Paste the table into Excel.
3. In Excel, highlight the first column of
the table.
4. Click the Data tab on the top menu bar,
and then click Text to Columns.
5. In a pop-up window, select Fixed Width.
Click Finish.
6. Adjust column width for data display.

TableBase: Jump-Start Guide
TableBase is composed of tabular information derived from reputable business, trade, and statistical publications. Coverage is global and provides information on more than 90 industries.
How to Search

- Basic Search: enter your search term in the Word/Phrases text box and click Search. Use Boolean connectors (AND, OR, NOT) for complex searches.
- For better results, use Basic Search first.
- When searching by several keywords, use AND connector.
For example, if you enter aspirin sales, the database might produce no hits; if you enter aspirin and sales, you'll get multiple results.
- Advanced Search: click the Advanced Search link. Enter your search term in the Word/Phrases text box, and add criteria from the available selections to limit search results, e.g. dates, countries, SIC codes, etc. Click Search.
Viewing Selected Results
Click the check box next to the titles of interest, and then click the Marked Items link located in the top left corner.
Printing / Downloading / Saving Results
With the document open, the Tools icon bar is displayed on the right-hand side of the document page. Select the corresponding icon to print, email, or download a table or a full-text article (as a text file).
