  • Sand Hill Index - benchmarks venture capital value. It is compiled on a monthly basis from 65,000 valuation events for 20,000 companies since January 1989. Data and graphs are in Excel format. Identifying a business opportunity and valuation of a company

For industry performance:

  • S&P NetAdvantage - includes e-version of S&P industry survey, which summarizes the current environment of an industry, trends, how the industry operates, key ratios, and the keys to analyzing a company in the industry. [icon - GSB Network]
  • OneSource's Business Browser - integrates information from over 2,500 business sources. The industry Profiles can include market research reports, analyst reports, industry norms, and articles.   • RMA Annual Statement Studies (Reference Room: Alphabetical Subject Section: Financial Ratios) - gives standard ratios by industry. • Catalog record
  • Key Business Ratios - D&B draws statistics from over one million public and private companies providing 14 key business ratios for over 800 lines of business. [icon - GSB Network]
  • D&B's Zapdata.com - free industry reports give quick market analysis. You can choose the specific industry segments you would like to target by SIC code. (requires free registration)

For company performance and competitor analysis:

  • Thomson Research - provides full-text SEC filings and historical financial reports of companies worldwide. [icon - GSB Network]
  • Thomson One Banker - Analytics - offers company financials, earnings estimates, real time market data and stock quotes. [icon - GSB Network]
  • Compustat - includes financial data from public traded companies worldwide. [icon - GSB Network]
