"Operations Management and Homeland Security: From Models to Implementation"

In this overview of issues related to homeland security, Professor Wein will give information on his research in two areas: bioterrorism (preparedness and response to a smallpox attack, an airborne anthrax attack, and an attack on the food supply; decontamination after an anthrax attack) and border control (preventing nuclear weapons from entering the country on a shipping container, and using biometrics to prevent terrorists from entering the country). He will focus on the modeling, the policy recommendations and the implementation of these recommendations.
