  • Walmart - China Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is the largest retailer and largest company in the world based on revenue. Wal-Mart entered the Chinese market in 1996. The first Supercenter and SAM'S CLUB were opened in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. As of December 2006, there are 73 units in 36 cities.

  • Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC ) is a Chinese automobile manufacturer which ranks third among the "Big Five" Chinese automakers. SOE listed, SAIC partnered with General Motors to form Shanghai GM, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile, and the Pan-Asia Technical Automotive Center. SAIC also partnered with Volkswagen Group in the formation of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive. Phil Murtaugh, Sloan fellow is currently VP of the Group, revenue in 2004: $11.5 billion, about 50,000 employees.
