What is Document Delivery Services?

Document Delivery Services (DDS) provides document retrieval and delivery service to Business School faculty and staff for Business School related research. This includes articles, books, chapters of books and papers from Stanford collections. If Stanford does not own the requested material, an Interlibrary Loan will be requested on your behalf.

Who can use Document Delivery Services?

GSB Faculty and staff are eligible for these services.

How can I request material for a professor?

Use your own account and put the professor's name in the "Notes" field. The professor's name will be displayed in email notificaitons, and you can always view your request in the system to check the "Notes" field for this information.

How long does it take to get an item through Document Delivery Services?

It depends.  If the item is available is on campus, it will be delivered within 48 business hours.

If the item is not available on campus an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will be requested from another library.  Some ILL requests are delivered electronically within a day and other items can take several weeks to arrive by mail.

How can I check the status of my request?

You can check the status of your request at anytime by logging into your DDS account. Click on "Outstanding Transactions" to view your active requests.

How will I receive the material that I’ve requested?

Books will be delivered to your office (Faculty Assistant’s office for faculty requests).  Electronic-copies of articles will be held on the server for you to pick up via your DDS account.

How will I be notified when the material I requested is available?

You will receive an email.
