Interlibrary Loan FAQs


What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service to provide items not available at Stanford University needed to support the teaching, learning, research, and other GSB related work of GSB faculty, students and staff.  

Who can use Interlibrary Loan?

GSB Faculty, staff and students are eligible for these services. Stanford faculty,staff and students should contact Green Library for interlibrary services.

How long does it take to get an item through Interlibrary Loan?

It depends on the item.  Some items are delivered electronically within a day and other items can take several weeks to arrive by mail.

How can I check the status of my request?

You can check the status of your ILL request at anytime by logging into your Document Delivery Services online account. Click on "Outstanding Transactions" to view your active requests.

How will I receive the material that I’ve requested?

Books will be held for pick up at the front desk.  Electronic-copies of articles will be held on the server for you to pick up via your DDS account.

How will I be notified when the material I requested is available?

You will receive an email.
