Study Rooms
Group study/ discussion rooms are available on the second floor of the library for use by the Business School student community. Most of the rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be used by checking out a key at the Library's Reserve Desk. Some rooms are set aside for use by reservation only for Business School group study.
Capacity
Each room can accommodate 4 to 6 persons, except the larger rooms, 300I and 300J. See Outlook for the capacity for these rooms.
Equipment
All rooms are equipped with whiteboards, computers and telephones. Business School students may charge out conference phones, projectors and eBeams (portable digital whiteboard systems) from the Reserve Desk for use in the study rooms.
Using a Study Room
- To use a Study Room, charge out a key from the Reserve Desk.

- The loan period is 3 hours.
- Late keys will be fined according to our reserve fine policy.
- When no rooms are available, you may place a hold for the first available room.
- Keys can be renewed for additional time if no one is waiting for a room.
- At certain times, some of these rooms are reserved for Career Management Center interviews and course related activities.
Reserving a Group Study Room
- For Business School group study use only by Business School students.
- Group Study rooms may be reserved in advance using Outlook.
- Group Study rooms may be reserved for 3 hours at a time.
- Rooms are locked. Check out the key at the Reserve Desk to access the room at your reserved time.
- CMC interviews and Business School class-use take precedence. You will be notified when there is a conflict with your reserved time.
To view a Group Study Room Schedule:
- Open Outlook.
- Click on the Folder List icon
located on the bottom of the Folder List. - Open the Public Folders folder.
- Open All Public Folders.
- Open the GSB folder.
- Open the Room Scheduling folder.
- Open the Jackson Library Study Rooms folder.
- Open the 300H, 300I or 300J Folder.
To schedule and use a Group Study room:
- Follow the steps above to view the room calendars.
- Enter the full names of at least two of the Business School students who will be using the rooms (names must be entered as they appear in the Outlook Address Book). Reservations will be cancelled if two names are not given at the time of the reservation. Rooms may also be cancelled if they are for longer than the three hour loan period.
- Both students must present their Stanford IDs at the time of the reservation to check out the key to the room.
