Mary is a Lecturer in Organizational Behavior at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (GSB).  She teaches the strategic communication elective.

Mary Lang is also the Assistant Director of the Mastery in Communication Initiative at the GSB, where she serves as a Section Communication Coach, and co-creator in the writing element of the Critical Analytical Thinking (CAT) course.

Mary has taught in both public university systems in California, and has led sales, marketing, and business transformation divisions, for the Random House publishing arm of the Bertelsmann media organization.

Mary Lang also advises leading organizations (including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Southern California Edison, and NASA) on communication, organizational culture, and change strategy. Comadrona Communications, Inc. manages Mary's consulting activities.

Mary Lang holds an M.A. from the Annenberg School for Communication (University of Southern California), and a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego. She is a member of the Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association's Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Management Communication Association, and the International Communication Association.
