David Schweidel
David Schweidel has taught writing for more than twenty years, first at the University of Arizona and currently in private classes and at UC Berkeley Extension.
He is the author of Confidence of the Heart, winner of the Milkweed National Fiction Prize, and co-author of What Men Call Treasure, nominated for awards by the Western Writers of America and the Lambda Literary Society. His short stories and essays have appeared in such publications as the Kansas Quarterly, the Colorado Review, and the East Bay Express.
Schweidel holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. He lives in Berkeley with his wife and two daughters.
