Empowering Innovators to be Effective Communicators @ The GSB

Leadership communication that is read, understood, and remembered.

Today there is more communication, across more platforms, creating more opportunities in business, than at any other time in history.  The Mastery in Communication Initiative at the Stanford Graduate School of Business helps MBA candidates master effective writing, speaking, and interactions, to connect their capabilities—as critical analytical decision makers, self-aware personal leaders, and innovative thinkers—to the critical conversations that can change the world.

A unique partnership between students, faculty, and coaches, the Mastery Initiative employs a coaching model to help future leaders master writing that is read, understood, and remembered, along with effective speaking and interactions.

The program's heartbeat is the coaching team. The Stanford GSB Section Communication Coaches serve as trusted advisors to our MBAs.  This unique team brings together communication and organizational expertise to offer an uncommon level of coaching, specifically geared to Stanford MBA candidates.

Our current Section Communication Coaches include management consultants, published novelists, speechwriters, presentation coaches, experienced corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, editors, journalists, and educators.

A popular communication seminar series, co-taught by the program's co-creators Mary Lang and JD Schramm, rounds out the program and offers deeper insight into communication for tomorrow’s leaders.
