Parents Challenge Students: Do as I Do
The year’s graduating class made history with its class gift and left a legacy for those who follow.
Members of the MBA Class of 2006 pledged a record $477,000 to the School with 95 percent participation. The graduates’ parents raised an additional $116,000 through the Parents Challenge Fund.
The class overwhelmingly chose to direct its gift to the Public Management Program’s Service Learning Program, which will double the number of student service trips for those planning to study microfinance and social entrepreneurship in East Africa, land conservation in the greater Yellowstone area of the U.S., the effects of HIV/AIDS and sex trafficking in Thailand and Cambodia, and fair trade and sustainable harvesting in Guatemala.
