The Cool and the Green: Expo Shows Off Innovative Design

Doing more for less was the theme of the 2009 Cool Product Expo, an exhibition of innovative products and services cosponsored by the Graduate School of Business, the Stanford Product Realization Network, and the Stanford Product Design and Manufacturing Club. “Companies that use resources efficiently and responsibly were celebrated for their ingenuity,” says Amanda Boaz, MBA Class of ’09.

Fifty-one exhibitors demonstrated their products—some not yet brought to market—with the hopes of attracting investors and/or customers. Tables lined the inside of Stanford University’s Arrillaga Alumni Center and some exhibits, including converted plug-in cars, spilled out onto the adjacent lawn and were seen by more than 1,200 attendees during the show on April 8.
