Dubbed "DC2VC," the one-hour session supported what featured health care summit speaker Todd Park called a new generation of medical "rock stars" who are blending cutting-edge technology with reams of old-fashioned data to help drive innovation. Park is chief technology officer of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. What if asthma sufferers carried inhalers hooked up to global positioning devices? Data on where and when the inhalers were used could then arm health care officials with greater information on the location of asthma threats in a community.
