Stanford Business School Named Leader in Teaching Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Environmental Sustainability
October 2005
STANFORD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS—In its biennial report Beyond Grey Pinstripes, World Resources Institute, and the Aspen Institute identified the Stanford Graduate School of Business as the leader among business schools that are incorporating academic content involving ethics, corporate social responsibility, and environmental sustainability into their curriculums and activities. The ranking was based on an extensive survey in which schools were asked to describe cases, research, and course content that address these issues.
In addition, Erica Plambeck, Business School associate professor of operations, information, and technology, and John McMillan, Jonathan Lovelace professor of economics, were among 11 North American faculty members honored for their academic work. Plambeck received the Rising Star Award for work that includes introducing subjects such as waste reduction and pollution prevention in semiconductor manufacturing and the ethics of management into her teaching at the School.
