Montgomery Named INFORMS Fellow

STANFORD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS—David B. Montgomery has been inducted as an inaugural fellow of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science in recognition of his contributions to marketing science. Montgomery, the Kresge Professor of Marketing, Emeritus, was honored at the group’s conference in June 2008 in Vancouver, B.C.

He received the 2002 Mahajan Award for career contributions to marketing strategy from the American Marketing Association and his paper on First Mover Advantages received the 1996 best paper award from the Strategic Management Society.

Also in June he co-chaired the conference on "Evolving Marketing Competition in the 21st Century" held in Mainz, Germany. Montgomery currently holds the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Distinguished Scholar Chair of Marketing and is dean-emeritus and a consultant/visiting professor of marketing and management at Singapore Management University.
