Willard Hotchkiss

The First Dean of the School, Willard E. Hotchkiss came to Stanford from Northwestern University where he had already organized a school of business administration. He had also started a business school at the University of Minnesota before coming to Stanford. In addition to teaching, Hotchkiss conducted the Willard E. Hotchkiss Management Service and also was executive director of the National Industrial Federation of Clothing Manufacturers.
