Liz S. Peintner
Liz S. Peintner joined the Public Management Program (PMP) as assistant
director in 2007. For over 35 years the PMP has prepared Stanford MBA students
for responsible leadership by giving them the knowledge and experience
they need to apply business skills to issues of public concern. As assistant
director, Liz oversees the Stanford Management Internship Fund (SMIF),
which provides fellowships to MBA students to work with public and nonprofit
organizations for the summer. She also leads Stanford Board Fellows, which provides MBA students apprenticeships with Bay Area nonprofit boards of directors.
Prior to joining the PMP, Liz worked with the Stanford Alumni Consulting Team of the Graduate School of Business, connecting San Francisco Bay Area alumni with nonprofit's for pro bono management consulting projects. Before joining the Graduate School of Business, Liz worked for four years with NEW, a nonprofit management support organization in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While there, she advised small, start-up and growing nonprofits through a board matching and training program, leadership development for executive directors, and curriculum development for nonprofit employees throughout southeastern Michigan.
While in Ann Arbor, Liz also co-founded 2004 Miles for Democracy, a grassroots effort to recruit and involve volunteers in local and national elections with a goal of walking a collective 2004 miles between May and November 2004. During that year's election cycle, Liz co-led volunteers in local canvassing efforts, partnering with environmental groups such as the League of Conservation Voters. Earlier in her career, Liz coordinated a summer service learning program for students and rural communities at the Kansas State University Community Service Program.
Liz earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Social Work/Family Studies and Human Development from Kansas State University.
