SatKartar Khalsa

SatKartar Khalsa is the Associate Director of the Public Management Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business. As part of the Stanford Center for Social Innovation, the Public Management Program (PMP) supports student learning in areas spanning public and nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, international development, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.

As Associate Director SatKartar supports the Director in guiding PMP strategy and operation, and is also responsible for the program’s academic, career, and student programming.

Prior to this position, SatKartar worked in the private sector as a management consultant, where her client work focused on global strategy and natural resources, including alternative energy. She also spent four years as an executive project manager in a socially responsible business, where she built broad experience in applying competitive strategy to social impact.

SatKartar has a particular interest in international development and social entrepreneurship. While completing her MBA she consulted to the UN Global Compact and the UN Capital Development Fund, and interned at the United Nations Secretariat and two development foundations in Central America.

SatKartar completed her graduate studies at Yale University, earning an MBA and a MA in International Relations. She graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College with a BA in Economics. Having lived and studied in South Asia for nine years, she focused her undergraduate thesis on development and poverty in India. SatKartar is also a certified yoga teacher with over ten years of teaching experience.
