Government and Politics Club
The Government and Politics Club, with over 90 members, serves as the primary organization for GSB students of all political stripes who are interested in lively discussion, meetings with top policy makers, and careers in local, state, and federal government.
Our mission is to provide a non-partisan forum for students to discuss the intersection of government and business, bring government officials to campus as speakers, and offer field trips to meet with government officials in California and Washington, DC. The popular G&P listserv features regular debate on political topics of the day and notifications of weekly speaker events at the university. The annual Washington DC Study Trip enables students to meet and ask questions of top legislators, cabinet secretaries, and lobbying & media figures. Students interested in government-related internships and careers benefit from the club's associations with the Career Management Center and Public Management Program.
Club members are united through a shared interest in political issues, and a recognition that government affairs is an essential part of the education of future business leaders.
